Subject: Are your potatoes muktzah?

Some of you may not be aware of this but the RC8C announced last
week that after extensive testing, it was found that an average
potato can be used to generate enough electricity to power a clock.
(see http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/aug2001/997764816.Ot.r.html)
Therefore, the gedolei ha'ir unanimously issued a psak that potatoes
must be considered muktzah. As a result, potatoes can't be used to make kugel,
chulent, or any other dish that may be eaten on shabbos.
In response to this announcement "Bubba's Potatoes" is
proud to announce the introduction of new "non-muktzah" potatoes.
Now available at local stores for only $75 a pound. They are the ONLY
potatoes guaranteed not to be muktzah and the only potatoes
availble with the RC8C hechsher.
In unrelated news - Bubba's Potatoes is also proud to
announce a large donation recently made to the tzedaka fund administered
by the head of the RC8C.
